Vishal Veeru Devgan, born as Vishal Veeru Devgan, is a well-known Indian actor, filmmaker, and producer working primarily in Hindi cinema. Known as one of Bollywood's leading actors, he has appeared in over a hundred movies and earned numerous awards, such as four National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. In 2016, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award. Devgn made his acting debut with the action-romance *Phool Aur Kaante* (1991), a blockbuster that made him an overnight star. He later starred in successful action movies such as *Jigar* (1992), *Suhaag* (1994), *Vijaypath* (1994), and romantic hits like *Ishq* (1997) and *Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam* (1999). His critically acclaimed performance in *Zakhm* (1998) earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor. Throughout the 2000s, Devgn gave critically praised performances in films like *Company* (2002), *The Legend of Bhagat Singh* (2002), and *Omkara* (2006). His role as Bhagat Singh won him his second National Film Award for Best Actor. In the 2010s, he made a strong comeback with big commercial hits such as *Singham* (2011) and *Golmaal Again* (2017).
